So with a bit less training than I should have done Sunday 28th February saw me running the Brighton Half Marathon.
Despite me not running enough before race day I did manage a new PB of 2:28:10. I quite like this time as it means I escape the 2:30hr plus pen at the start of events.
I couldn’t walk that well on Monday after race day, but two decent nights sleep has fixed that. I have also learnt as much as I like SIS gels to keep me going on the way round, if you keep them in your pocket they rub and you end up with a small hole in your leg. Might have to invest in a proper energy gel / water belt.
I promise myself no more half marathons for a few months now I have proved I can do them. I shall instead focus on cycling London to Anmsterdam, then the London Triathlon and finally a September tough mudder. I am sure I’ll get convinced to do something else, but maybe I will manage to say no occasionally.
