I’ve not really used my car since Christmas so I’ve made the fairly radical decision (for me) to go carless.
The main use it was getting before was for trips to the supermarket, but I’ve started walking there now which is probably better for my health anyway.
Given I pay a fortune for a yearly zone 1 to 5 travel card I might as well get more use out of that when I do fancy a trip to Bromley. (Then Bromley is also a sensible walk from home)
Another factor in this might also be I’ve been buying my meat from muscle food hence there is less shopping to do.
I can always hire a car when I need one, which at the usage rate I’ve been managing will work out cheaper than my monthly insurance bill. It also means I can let other people worry about MoT tests and other boring car admin tasks!
